One of the most common questions we receive is "How far in advance do I need to order sod?"
Pick up Orders
Planning to pick up sod at one of our farms? We generally require no advance notice since we are cutting every day! The only exception to this is if wet weather is expected. For example, if you are planning to pick up sod tomorrow but it is forecasted to rain, we recommend ordering the day prior so that we can cut it the evening prior before it is too wet to harvest.
Also, if you are picking up one of our specialty Bermuda grasses, you must call a day in advance since we cut these at another location and need to schedule our crews to cut there.
We can almost always deliver next day to the Maryland, DC, Delaware, and Northern Virginia market. Pennsylvania and New Jersey sometimes require up to 72 hour notice but make sure to call since we may be able to deliver sooner.
Sometimes, we can even deliver same day if you call in the morning (although we don't recommend waiting this long to order)!
TIP: If you need sod today or tomorrow, please call in your order as opposed to trying to order online. The online store is not configured to allow same or next day delivery by default due to scheduling concerns.
